Implant Crowns

Advantages:

1. No need for reduction of tooth structure of teeth on either side of space.
2. No feel of extra bulk in mouth

Disadvantages:

1. Surgery required ( possible complications include things like infection residual numbness due to injury to the nerve etc.
2. Cost is more than for bridgework and partial dentures and usually will not be covered by dental insurance.
3. Requires the most time for completion of replacement since we have to ,in most cases ; wait for implant(s) to heal and integrate to the jaw bone.

Sometimes, the treatment can be a combination of the three options ie Implants can be used to hold a partial denture.
